The Aftermath

The biggest event for New York and fashion commenced on February 5th and ended with a bang on the 13th, New York Fashion Week Fall 2020. It was filled with fabulous works of art curated as fashionable and inspirational pieces. Dozens of notable designers get the opportunity to showcase their works on runways filled with hundreds of models. The displays seen at fashion shows are beautiful; there’s an immense amount of work and intricacy that goes into bringing these pieces together.

If you’ve ever been to a fashion show, you’ll be in awe of the glitz and the glam. But behind the curtain that leads to the catwalk is mayhem. While designers, models, and stylists are multitasking seconds before showtime, mistakes happen. Meurice has been there for the missing embellishments, tears, and uneven hemlines. Meurice has the great honor to provide excellent care and craftsmanship for Dapper Dan. One of several designers of color from Harlem’s Fashion Row. He was celebrated amongst other designers of color as a way to kick-off New York Fashion Week. The services we offer can luckily easily fix these small faults. After the week of shows are over, buys or editors of high-end magazines will purchase their favorite garments that were walked through, creating a photoshoot for the next spread.

New York Fashion Week successfully had 85 designers showcased their work and roughly a total of 150,000 people attended the shows. This year’s Fall 2020 NYFW not only generated an economical boost for New York, it’s a way to inspire trends, emotions, and aesthetics. Particular designers chose to utilize the platform they worked for to make a statement. Fashion is a never-ending cycle; the “what’s in style” is continually changing. Designers were given a large platform to present their take on what we should be looking out for to keep up with the changing industry. At Meurice we’re expecting to see the newest looks for fall 2020, including the reworked blazers inspired by Zadig and Voltaire, modernized peasant dresses, high necklines, bold prints from Carolina Herrera, and statement pieces displayed at Brandon Maxwell and Oscar de la Renta’s show. These well-known designers know how to dress the runway, but what about afterwards. That's when Meurice takes the stage.
